Birdcage Radio asked to me to design an event banner to promote their music event. I chose to make it a video banner to make this event really ‘pop out’ and support this collective of young and ambitious people.
(the event has been pushed into the future due to the current corona prevention measures in the Netherlands, so it was a good thing I didn’t include the date in the animated banner)
Software used:
- Blender 2.8
- base geometry buildings
- greace pencil for the bikes, fences, morph-bird and letters
- Photoshop
- texture painting
- After effects
- color correction
- camera shake and blurs
I have been given pretty much a wildcard to make whatever I liked on this project so I decided to take this opportunity to experiment a bit and get familiar with some techniques and tools I did not use yet but were on my ‘to learn- list’:
- a ‘camera mapping’ technique I was inpired to try for myself after watching Olaf Storm use it in his videos
- getting to grips with the new blender 2.8 interface and options
- trying out blender’s greacepencil for 2d animation
